IPOH, 16 October 2016 (Sunday) – A total of 43 preachers (mubaligh) and community mobilizers from Perak participated in the Qur’an Teaching Method Training Course using the Abahata Al-Jabari technique. The program is part of the Wakaf Perak Al Ridzuan (WAPAR) project, which was launched on 7 April 2016. The two-day course was held from 15 to 16 October 2016 at the Institute of Public Administration Training (ILPA), Ipoh.
This pioneering program was jointly organized by the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), the Institute of Qur’anic Studies (IPAQ), and the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk). Through this program, preachers who have undergone the training will be deployed to assist new converts (muallaf) and indigenous Muslim communities in learning to read the Qur’an using a fast and simple teaching method. The approach aims to eradicate illiteracy in Qur’anic reading and strengthen the fundamentals of Qur’anic recitation.
The two-day course featured engaging and well-structured sessions, including an introduction to the Abahata Qur’anic reading method, a Tahsinul Qiraat session conducted by a National and International Qur’an Recitation Champion, as well as a “micro teaching” slot.
The Waqaf for the Development and Advancement of Qur’anic Knowledge is an initiative by MAIPk to promote the dissemination of Qur’anic knowledge in the lives of the ummah through study, learning, understanding, appreciation, and application of the Qur’an, regardless of age or social background.
The closing ceremony was officiated by YBhg. Dr. Amiruddin bin Muhamed, Chief Executive Officer of MAIPk. Also present were Dr. Tajuddin Jali, Deputy Chairman of IPAQ, along with officers from MAIPk and JAIPk.
