An official working visit by the Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk) to Universiti Kuala Lumpur MIMET (UniKL), Lumut, and Tanjung Serantau, Tanjung Kepah Lekir was held on 10 April 2017 to realize the Boat Waqf Project – Waqaf Perak Ar-Ridzuan.
The purpose of this visit was to discuss the proposed construction of fishing boats for the use of fishermen in the Southern Manjung area. Among the matters discussed were the categories of boats, structural materials, engines, boat accessories, and fishing equipment suitable for use by fishermen to facilitate their fishing activities.
MAIPk plans to purchase two boats this year, one of which will be handed over to the South Manjung Area Fishermen’s Association. The visit was led by Dr. Amiruddin bin Muhamed, Chief Executive Officer of MAIPk.
