  3. WAPAR Initiative Empowers Rural Dakwah,…

GERIK, 10 November 2025 -The Perak Islamic Religious and Malay Customs Council (MAIPk), through the Wakaf Perak Al Ridzuan Programme (WAPAR), continues to strengthen the role of waqf as a catalyst for da’wah and community development. Most recently, a waqf boat was handed over to the Welfare Club for Missionary Da’wah and Indigenous Community Mobilisers (MUBARAK, Gerik) to support da’wah and welfare efforts in remote areas.

The handover ceremony, held at Pengkalan Trojan Jetty, Gerik, was officiated by the General Manager of MAIPk’s Waqf Division, Norfazilah binti Bawadi, and was attended by representatives from the Perak Islamic Religious Department (JAIPk) and MUBARAK Gerik. Also present were the Gerik District Religious Administrative Officer, Tuan Haji Joshuade Reza bin Mohd Zaini, and the Coordinator for Indigenous Community Mobilisers as well as Chairman of MUBARAK Gerik, Tuan Haji Zahari bin Wateh.

The waqf boat, built by UniKL MIMET, Lumut at a cost of RM160,876.20, plays a vital role in assisting missionaries and rural communities in carrying out da’wah activities. This initiative also supports WAPAR’s aspiration to enhance the social well-being of the Muslim community through the benefits of waqf assets.

MAIPk remains committed to ensuring that every waqf asset is optimally utilised for the benefit of the ummah in the State of Perak. This effort not only strengthens the role of waqf as an instrument of holistic development, but also reflects MAIPk’s spirit of care and concern for remote communities and new converts (muallaf) in Perak.
